Fitter Mechanic in BALLARAT, Victoria for sale

In Sydney, we will soon be supplying our latest Metropolis rolling stock and CBTC signalling system for the new Sydney Metro and the latest evolution of our Citadis tram, the X05, will bring a new dimension Sydney's public transport network. Alstom requires experienced Fitter/ Mechanic's to join our Rolling Stock workshop in Ballarat. Role will involve Undertake Fitting duties as directed by Supervision/Management ensuring that all work is carried out safely, economically, on time and within set quality standards, and to meet all Alstom Limited production requirements along with ISO 9002: 2000 Quality Management System. · Ensure that all work is efficiently planned, controlled and undertaken in a safe manner to the standards set down by the client and Alstom Limited. · The position requires a strong focus on customer needs, ensuring compliance with the company's policies, procedures and production targets. · Ensuring the customer orders is met in full, on time, every time by working effectively with planning and supervision to fulfil those requirements. · Improve output, quality and delivery performance while ensuring maximum efficiencies are achieved at the lowest possible cost. · Assist management to identify options to meet customer requirements · Inspect and interpret drawings and specifications and determine method of Manufacture and standards required. · Maintain a major role in the development and encouragement of the continuous improvement programs within the Ballarat Site. · Abide by all company safety policies so as to not put yourself and others in danger. · Ensure the health and safety of themselves and others and do not act in a way that may adversely affect the health and safety of any other person. · Comply with established Alstom Limited Policies and Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety legislation including those related to Drug and Alcohol. · Assist in controlling hazards through the use of risk management procedures. · Trade qualification, Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, diagrams, drawings and specifications, as well as read and interprets internal and external reports. · Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices, as well as a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of techniques for interpreting of production scheduling and costing. · Ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting tasks as required. · Problem solving ability · Demonstrated commitment to the health & safety of all staff. · Previous experience working in a Railway environment would be advantageous. · Trade qualification with a minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship preferred. · Experience with fault finding in Hydraulics & Pneumatic systems is desirable.
